Obusedō

小布施堂 本店の外観

Obusedō Honten Restaurant

Offers a Japanese-style course meal that uses seasonal ingredients and changes monthly. Embodying the concept “from production area to kingdom,” we see ourselves as “a showroom for local vegetables,” using traditional regional varieties and introducing new ways to enjoy unfamiliar ingredients.

Chestnuts, of course, take center stage on the September and October menus, giving guests the opportunity to evaluate the quality of the year’s harvest for themselves. The café menu features a “fresh chestnut confection of the month” inspired by the season year-round, shaved ice and chestnut paste kuzukiri in summer, and sweet chestnut soup with mochi in winter.

Masuichi-Ichimura Sake Brewery

桝一市村酒造場の外観

Masuichi-Ichimura Sake Brewery

The Masuichi-Ichimura Sake Brewery, affectionately known as “Masuichi,” has been operated by the Ichimura family, which also runs Obusedō, since the Hōreki era (1751–1764) during the Edo period. The second floor above the retail shop houses rooms were brewery workers stay during the brewing season, and a corner of the shop is set aside as a yoritsuki—a common room where they can rest and hold meetings. Such interior features reflect the distinctive character of a traditional sake brewery.
